In the book of Daniel we meet King Nebuchadnezzar, the most powerful man in the world at the time. Nebuchadnezzar is probably one of my favorite characters in the Bible, which might seem like an odd choice. But through Nebuchadnezzar we see God's unending unrelenting love and pursuit.
In Daniel 4 Nebuchadnezzar is driving into insanity for 7 years. Because of his arrogance and unwillingness to see the God of Israel as the One True God. (Nebuchadnezzar who thought he was god himself, which plays out over the first 4 chapters of Daniel.)
This video here is a creative glimpse as what those 7 years might have looked like. It's an experimental piece, where I am starting to work through an idea that I have for a much larger film.
For the words of God I pulled some text from Job 38, which is another moment where God needed to challenge a man, though a very different context. Rather than making a sorry attempt to write dialogue for the Almighty I felt it was appropriate to pull from Job and keep within the very words He spoke elsewhere.
If you are unfamiliar the story of Nebuchadnezzar I would encourage you to take a moment and read it. - PC
